Large plasters for sensitive skin to completely protect wounds when other plasters can’t. Made with hypoallergenic materials and designed to stay put for long periods of time.

Keep cuts and grazes covered with extra-large plasters

When standard plasters and dressings won’t cut it, use a large padded dressing for wounds. These large plasters come in two large sizes: 8.6cm x 6cm and 7cm x 6cm, giving you lots of room for complete protection while an injury heals.

Each large plaster is sterile to help you keep the area free from bacteria. They are also hypoallergenic, meaning you can use them even on sensitive skin. Because of this, our large plasters are excellent for use in schools, where children are more likely to have sensitive skin.

Our large plasters are designed to stay close to the skin and not get in the way of everyday actions and movements. The highly sticky adhesive holds on to the skin for as long as you wear the plasters. The material is flexible and pliable, moving easily with the body's motions.

Advantages, Features & Benefits

The large plasters are extremely flexible making them ideal for use on awkward parts of the body such as the elbow or knee
The plasters are made with hypoallergenic adhesive and can be used on a child's sensitive skin
The product is designed to have exceptional stretch and conforming properties and will stand up to the test of daily activities
The product is sterile with each plaster individually wrapped, in accordance with health and safety requirements
The plasters have a highly absorbent wound pad to soak up exudate and help the wound heal faster. Thick pad also cushions and protects the wound from knocks
The larger size of these plasters makes them perfect for large cuts and grazes on children and adults that cannot be covered by standard plasters.
The non-adherent wound pad makes for painless removal when changing the dressing. The wound pad is completely centralised meaning you can isolate the wound in a matter of seconds keeping it safe, dry, and bacteria-free.
Each plaster is packed in a handy wallet which makes them easy to transport without damage or contamination
Each pack contains two sizes (8.6cm x 6cm and 7cm x 6cm). There are two of each per pack.

Who uses adhesive wound dressings?

A sterile non-woven adhesive wound dressing is used to maintain a safe, clean environment in which a wound is protected from bacteria and damage from the outside elements. An adhesive sterile wound dressing allows the body to work on healing damaged tissues. The highly absorbent wound pad works well to draw exudate away from the area, keeping it dry and discouraging maceration.

Paediatrics

The skin-friendly, hypoallergenic adhesive makes an adhesive wound plaster dressing the number one choice for a child's sensitive skin, and they are highly recommended for use in schools, nurseries and by childminders.

The flexibility and durability of an adhesive foam wound dressing also help it stay in place on the skin despite children running around and playing.

Post-Operative

In beauty and healthcare generally, an adhesive wound dressing is often chosen as the ideal post-op wound dressing to protect an injury while it heals. Adhesive wound dressings are extremely easy and quick to apply, and the adhesive wound dressing pads don't adhere to the wound area, making frequent dressing changes minimally disruptive.

Veterinary

Veterinarians regularly use this type of adhesive wound dressing for dogs, cats, and other household pets, thanks to its high adhesive properties and ease of application. A vet might apply an adhesive wound dressing following stitches or cleaning a wound to prevent the animal from licking or scratching the area, keeping it safe from infection.

How to Use Steropore Adhesive Wound Dressings

Pre-Application Instructions

1. Ensure cleanliness: Before applying the dressing, ensure your hands are clean. If possible, wear a pair of disposable gloves for hygiene

2. Prepare the wound: Clean the wound and surrounding area gently with warm water and mild soap, then pat dry

Open the packet: Remove the dressing carefully from its packaging, making sure not to touch the adhesive or wound pad.

Apply the dressing: Peel back one-half of the protective film. Position the dressing so that the absorbent pad covers the wound completely then remove the remaining protective film.

Check regularly: Gently press down on the edges of the dressing to ensure secure adhesion. Inspect the dressing regularly to ensure it is still in place and hasn't become soaked through with wound exudate.

Change the dressing: Replace the dressing as necessary, or every 2-3 days, or as advised by a healthcare professional.

Where to use Steropore Adhesive Wound Dressings
